May 2026 - Roland presents TR-1000 - Sussiguala Live.
Date & time: 19st of May, 6:30 to 9pm
Howler Theatre room. (Back room) Entry is FREE!
First hour - Synth meet. Bring in a piece of gear, share and chat hardware. (See instructions below).
Then - Sussiguala Live.
Positioned between deep house roots and a future in experimental techno, Sussiguala sets weave an eclectic journey through glitchy rhythm layers, expansive synth-scapes and transcendent melody. The live show is brought to life on analog keyboards and drum machines layered with exquisite captures from math-music Puredata patches.
Last hour - Roland presents TR-1000.
After debuting the TR-1000 with Signal Path last year, Leroy returns for the next chapter. This session moves beyond the fundamentals—diving into groove building, sound design, and performance techniques that transform patterns into full tracks.
As well as the TR-1000, Leroy will also bring along a range of the latest and greatest from Roland to play and synth nerd out on. Binofski (Leroy) will then play live on TR-1000 and then demo the TR. In addition, he will demo some of the smaller Roland units from the Aira Compacts collection to showcase other forms of music creation. Feel free to ask Leroy questions about any of the Roland range.
TR-1000 Rhythm Creator is ground breaking new drum machine built with and for artists to catalyze the next evolution of rhythm culture. As the latest member of the famous TR lineage, the TR-1000 builds on the legacy of the TR-808 and TR-909 as the first Roland drum machine in over 40 years with true analog voices, coupled with the latest digital sound and sampling technologies and a performance-focused user interface. From the speaker-rattling boom of the TR-808 to the distinctive punch of the TR-909, Roland’s original TR rhythm instruments from the early 1980shavefueled the ambitions of generations of music makers. First embraced by underground creators, TR sounds are now deeply embedded in modern music, forming the backbone of hip-hop and trap, the pulse of techno and house, and the foundational grooves for contemporary pop songs across every genre.
Instructions for synth meet gear share:
Every synth meet, in the first hour, it's 'bring hardware to share'. It can be anything from a groovebox, drum machine, synth or any electronic music making box. Feel free to play with all the synths in the room, except for the live jam setup (should be in the middle of the room). There is a strictly "no drinks over synths" policy. Unless it's your synth, in which case it's at your own risk! If you do plan on bringing gear (of any description) please get in touch so we make sure there is ample table space. Bring a pair of headphones as well please. Patrons also feel free to bring your own pair of headphones if that makes you more comfortable.
Note it's 'burger night' at Howler. Good quality cheap burger and a beer.
See you there.
The Signal Path synth meet is a safe space. Zero tolerance on discrimination, harassment or any other emotional or physical harm. Dickheads will be shown the door.
